On the occasion of the 125th Anniversary of the Death of Johannes Brahms
Bad Ischl in northern Austria was where Brahms spent his last Summer in 1896.
In the past few years, Brahms had lost a great many of his closest friends; among them was the cruelest one, the death of Clara Schumann from a stroke in May 1896.
The grueling 40-hour journey to attend Clara Schumann’s funeral undoubtedly deteriorated Brahms’s health. When he was ill with invasive liver cancer and was the one that took his life from this world during that time, Brahms spent most of his time managing his affairs.
The Eleven Chorale Preludes, Op.122, is the last Chorale Preludes for Organ that Brahms composed in Bad Ischl. They were found on Brahms’s desk after his death in 1897, but they were publically published in 1902, which was not his intention according to his letter written that ‘This work is not intended for publication.’
For The Eleven Chorale Preludes, Op.122, “He followed the conventions of the form, the most important of which was to paraphrase and elaborate upon the lines of pre-existing Lutheran chorale melodies. Brahms’s use of counterpoint and harmony show a mixture of baroque techniques with romantic sensibility.”

Meet our Musicians
Wally Hase
Even before completing her studies with Prof. Jean-Claude Gérard and Prof. Aurèle Nicolet, Wally Hase became principal flutist of the Staatskapelle Weimar at the age of 22, a position she held until 2009.
In 2000, Wally Hase was appointed full professor of flute at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar. From 2014 to 2018, she also held a visiting professorship at the University of Music Krakow. Since October 2018, Wally Hase has been Univ. Professor of Flute at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
She continues her orchestral activities as a solo flutist with the Camerata Salzburg, the Cappella Andrea Barca, conducted by Sir András Schiff, the Staatskapelle Dresden, and the SWR and WDR Symphony Orchestras, among others.
Wally Hase has a rich concert life with recitals, solo concerts, as well as chamber music and gives master classes in Europe, Australia, Asia, and South America. Numerous recordings with various radio stations, CD recordings with solo and chamber music, and an international jury activity complete the picture of her musical activities.
Wally Hase is Haynes’s Artist and plays on a silver flute by Wm.S.Haynes/Boston.
Vanda Albota
The pianist Vanda Albota was born in Romania and received her first musical training in her home country. She continued her studies in Weimar, where she graduated from the Konzertexamen with a scholarship from Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation and the DAAD. After that, she continued her education of historical keyboard instruments in Berlin and completed her Konzertexamen. She also received lessons and suggestions from musicians such as Gerlinde Otto, Ulrich Beetz, Mitzi Meyerson, Paul Badura-Škoda, Andras Schiff.
Vanda Albota played with orchestras in her home country and in Berlin, Leipzig, Zwickau, Greiz, Bad Hersfeld, Weimar, Jena and numerous radio and television recordings document the pianist’s playing (MDR Leipzig, BBC London, Radio Romania Cultural). The solo activity is supplemented by Chamber music and Collaborative. In addition, Vanda Albota is a demanded pianist at masterclasses and competitions such as Forum Artium, Weimar’s Masterclasses, Leipzig International Bach Competition.
The pianist also works intensively with performance practice on historical keyboard instruments and has already played in Berlin (also in the Philharmonie as a soloist with the German Chamber Orchestra), Bergheim near Cologne (Sammlung Dohr), Weimar (Sammlung Beetz), Bad Krozingen (Sammlung Neumeyer Junghanns-Tracey).
From 2004 to 2012, she worked as a lecturer for Werkstudium at the “Franz Liszt” University of Music in Weimar. From 2012 to 2014 also worked at the Berlin University of the Arts. Her piano playing has been awarded prizes at numerous international competitions, and she has received several scholarships (Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, DAAD). In 2000 she won the third prize at the “Nueva Acropolis” in Madrid and a first prize at the “Carl Filtsch” in Sibiu / Hermannstadt-Romania. In 2002 a third prize followed at the “Jeunesses Musicales” in Bucharest, in 2004 a third prize at the “AMA Calabria” in Lamezia Terme, and in 2006 the first prize at the international “Ella Phillipp” competition for piano and orchestra.
Sanook Boonpan
Sanook started his flute lessons at the age of eight with Mr.Sinith Tongcharoenlap at Aum-Aree Music School. In 2010, he was admitted to College of Music, Mahidol University in Pre-College Program (equivalent to Grade 10 – 12) where he studied with Mrs. Agrita Lakute and Mr.Hiroshi Matsushima. In 2014, Sanook was admitted to College of Music, Mahidol University where he received his Bachelor in Music (Flute Performance) under the guidance of Mr. Hirsohi Matsushima and later in 2016 under the guidance of Ms. Yu-Jin Jung.
He pursued his study at Musikhochschule Lübeck in Germany in the class of Prof. Angela Firkins, where he graduated in 2020 with distinction.
Sanook participated in numerous masterclasses with many well-known flutists such as Peter Lukas-Graf, Robert Aiken, Renate-Greiß Amin, Wiese Henrik, Daniela Koch, Alja Velkavehr and Wally Hase.
As an Orchestra Musician, Sanook was an Academist at the Orchestra Academy Lübeck , Philharmoniches Orchester der Hansestadt Lübeck in their 2018/2019 season. He also played as a Guest Musician with Gürzenich Orchestra Köln. He has worked under numerous renowned Conductors, among them are Ton Koopman, Lothar Zagrosek, Francois-Xavier Roth and Alessandro Crudele. Sanook was also a Finalist in Dutch International Flute Competition 2019 in category Master. Sanook is currently a Master of Music student at Folkwang University of Arts, Essen, Germany in the class of Professor Anne-Catherine Heinzmann, Majoring in Orchestral Playing.

Come move with us in our very first concert “Movements”!
klang.kunst wish to offer you a concert portrays music of dancing and movements, interpreted by highly skilled-professional Thai musicians and ballerina from Europe.
Our implication is that this “Movements” will be the movement of klang.kunst’s working progress to host variously fruitful and creative activities in Thailand and be the a part of the movement to push Thailand’s music and art industry forward.
This “Movements” will feature dancing music of the Baroque period, the Baroque style’s movements combining with contemporary movements, the 20th Century’s songs which integrates dancing style, and also Suite for violin and piano.
Since this is a “Movements”, klang.kunst wants the audience to be able to move, dance and change perspectives during the concert, movements of the audience will be part of the show that we would like to present. All the audience are allowed to move or dance freely, or even move a position to anywhere you want during the show.
The event starts at 17.30 hrs. and the concert starts at 19.00 hrs. onward. Before the show begins, everyone can get 1 FREE drink and continues enjoying food and drinks which will be sold in the area. Apart from that, each of you can feel relaxed, discuss and exchange your opinions with other people from different working fields. The audience can choose as one pleases where to sit and stand in the area to make you enjoy it to the utmost.

Meet our Artists
May Pitchayapa Lueangtawikit
Currently studies violin at the University of the Arts in Berlin (UdK) under Prof. Marianne Boettcher and at the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar in Prof. Andreas Hartmann’s class. May receives chamber music lessons by the renowned Artemis Quartett and members from Hr. Sinfonieorchester. May regularly performs as a soloist, chamber music musician and orchestral musician. May attended various masterclasses by many violinists such as Eduard Schmieider, Vadim Gluzman, Christoph Poppen, Rudolf Koelman, Boris Belkin, Christian Altenburger, Tanja Becker-Bender and chamber music masterclasses by Wolfgang Boettcher and Lukas Hagen.
As a chamber music musician, May formed Mixis Quartett at the UdK Berlin and performs numerous concerts in Berlin. As an orchestral musician May is an academy member at the hr-Sinfonieorchester (Frankfurt radio Symphony) in Frankfurt. May is a scholarship holder of the Paul-Hindemith-Society in Berlin and the Ad Infinitum Foundation, DAAD and the Lucia Loeser Foundation. She has been awarded several prizes at national and international competitions such as: In 2013, she won the first prize of Mahidol University Concerto Competition, she received the third gold medal prize of The 16th Settrade Young Musician Competition. In 2014, May won two first prizes of Princess Galyani Vadhana International Ensemble Competition for piano trio category and string ensemble category, May received the first gold medal prize of The 17th Set Young Musician competition, May received the first prize from the 8th Beethoven String Competition in Thailand.
Gun Chaikittiwatana
Gun Chaikittiwatana is a Thai pianist who is musically engaged on several national and international stages. To this day, he has performed in Austria, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, and the USA. He is also a prize-winner of various international piano competitions, including Grand Prix from the 2016 Kawai International Piano Competition, 1st prize and Soloist Award from the 14th International Chopin Piano Competition in ASIA (General Category), 1st prize from the 14th Osaka Music Competition (Recital-Course Category), and 2nd prize from the 1st Wittgenstein Memorial International Piano Competition for Left-Hand. Domestically, he is a recipient of 1st prizes from Steinway and Sons Piano Competition, Beethoven Piano Competition, Bangkok Chopin Piano Competition, and Trinity Guildhall Youth Piano Competition.
Gun graduated with a Bachelor degree in Piano Performance from Mozarteum University Salzburg under the tutelage of Prof. Jacques Rouvier. Currently, he is pursuing a Master degree at Berlin University of the Arts in the class of Prof. Björn Lehmann. During his time in Bangkok, he took piano lessons with Dr. Eri Nakagawa, who has been a key figure in his development for 8 years. In 2017, he was appointed as Yamaha Artist in Thailand.
Prima Tharathep
Prima Tharathep attended her first ballet lesson at the age of three. Throughout the years, she has been trained in classical ballet, modern jazz, contemporary dance, flamenco and traditional Thai dance.
As a student at the Bangkok Dance Academy, she took part in various festivals and competitions in the Asia-Pacific region and passed the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Advanced 2 examination with Distinction. This enabled her to take part in the renowned Genée International Ballet Competition in 2013. In 2016 she received her BA(HONS) Degree from the Central School of Ballet in London, and during this time performed in Crystal Pite’s choreography ‘Polaris’, as well as the Ballet Central tour. From 2016 to 2019, she was part of Cinevox Junior Company in Switzerland. There, she performed works by Martin Chaix, Heinz Spoerli, Felix Dumeril, Nicole Morel and was the victim in Franz Brodmann’s ‘Sacre du Printemps’. Prima joined the dance ensemble at Theater Trier in August 2019, and had since performed works by Roberto Scafati, Mauro Astolfi, Giovanni Insaudo, Guillaume Hulot and Christine Cecconello. She looks forward to optimising every opportunity that comes her way, and progressing into the best dancer she can possibly be.
