Active participation fee: 26,000 Thai baht

Scholarships for Thai Active Participants

Provided by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom Thailand and The Royal Thai Embassy Berlin, The Scholarships are intended for talented students who want to improve their skills and discover new paths through participation in this masterclass, but their economic situation makes it difficult for them.

How to Apply

To apply for the scholarship, please send these mandatory appendices along with your application for the masterclass:

  • Description of your specific financial situation in Thai or English
  • Recommendation letter in Thai or English

The decision to grant a scholarship is based on the judgment of Professor Alexey Stadler and The Royal Thai Embassy Berlin.

Alexey Stadler

Alexey Stadler, one of the finest cellists of his generation and winner of the TONALi Grand Prix in Hamburg, caused a sensation in his BBC Proms debut performing Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No.1 under the baton of Vasily Petrenko. Other highly successful debuts include Ulster Orchestra with Elim Chan, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin with Tugan Sokhiev, San Francisco Symphony with Vladimir Ashkenazy and Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony with Michael Sanderling amongst others. 

The 2024/25 season sees Alexey Stadler in a number of high level engagements across Europe. This season’s highlights include performances with Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen und der Staatskapelle Weimar.

A keen chamber musician, Alexey Stadler has performed with partners such as Janíne Jansen, Vadim Repin, Christian Tetzlaff, Viviane Hagner, Igor Levit, Alice Sara Ott, Lukáš Vondráček, Ebène Quartet and Szymanowski Quartet.

Festival appearances include the International Chamber Music Festival Stavanger, St. Petersburg’s White Nights Festival, Menuhin Festival Gstaad, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Heidelberger Frühling and Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Alexey Stadler performs with orchestras such as the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Münchner Symphoniker, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Riga Sinfonietta, Mariinsky Orchestra, Nordic Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra under renowned conductors such as Dmitri Kitajenko, Robert Trevino, Valery Gergiev and Marek Janowski.  

Born into a family of musicians, Alexey Stadler began to play the cello at the age of four. He began his studies with Alexey Lazko and continued his education at the Rimsky-Korsakov College of Music in St. Petersburg. He has participated in masterclasses with David Geringas, Frans Helmerson, Lynn Harrell, Steven Isserlis and Sir András Schiff. He received scholarships from the “Oscar und Vera Ritter-Stiftung”, “Alfred Töpfer Stiftung” and “Martha-Pulvermacher Stiftung” in Hamburg.

Alexey Stadler studied with Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, and was teaching there chamber music between 2020-2023. 

Recently he became a Professor of Cello at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg and curator of Symposiums/Artistic Advisor at the Krzyżowa-Music Festival.

Tanchanok Yimsomboon 

Tanchanok Yimsomboon, Thai pianist, born in Bangkok, Thailand. She is a graduate of the Young Artist Program at the College of Music, Mahidol University in Thailand (2012-2015), Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, (Piano Solo Class of prof. Jerzy Sterczyński, Lied and Chamber music class of prof. Maja Nosowska) (2016-2019) and the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (Piano class of Szczepan Kończal and Chamber music class of prof. Maria Szwajger-Kułakowska). During her study in Katowice, she participated in the historical piano class of Katarzyna Drogosz (2020-2022).

She will graduate from the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in summer 2025 from a Liedgestaltung study in the class of prof. Jan Philip Schulze.

She was a scholarship holder of the Young Artist Program at the College of Music, Mahidol University (2014) and Fund for the Promotion of Classical Music, under the patronage of Her Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana (2019).

She frequently gives piano solo recitals as well as appearing in chamber music and Lied performances. She has performed in many concert halls in Europe and Thailand, including in: Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic Hall in Szczecin, Royal Castle in Warsaw, Academy of Fine Arts in Szczecin, Myślewicki Palace, Łazienki Królewskie, Skierniewice Historical Museum, Konstancja Gładkowska Manor, Warsaw Music Society, Goethe-Institute Thailand, Thailand Cultural Centre.

She took part in piano masterclasses conducted by outstanding musicians, including
William Fong, Anna Górecka, Daniel Blumenthal, Marek Szlezer, Christoph Sischka and accompanied various musicians in chamber music and Lied masterclasses conducted by Pinchas Zukerman, Mariusz Kwiecień, Yuri Zhislin, Frank-Immo Zichner, Markus Hadulla, Anne Le Bozec, Paulina Tukiainen and Jan Kobow.

She is a finalist of Siam International Piano Competition (2015), she also performed in Vocal competition, the second Carl Loewe Voice Competition in Szczecin with soprano Alicja Gala (2019, 3rd prize).

In 2022, the pianist has been selected to perform a recital for the Skierniewice Genealogists Club on a presentation of the genealogy of Maria Szymanowska, she gave also an interview about Maria Szymanowska in the Woman Without Words project (2023).

In 2023, she portrayed the role of Konstancja Gładkowska, Chopin’s first love and gave piano recitals on the Night of Museums in Skierniewice at the Manor House of Konstancja Gładkowska.

Apart from performing, she actively conducted piano workshops for young people pianists in Thailand and lectures on “Music, History and Cultural elements through Chopin’s Mazurkas” (2022) and “Fryderyk Chopin, the poetic genius of Poland” (2022) for Bangkok Chopin Society and College of Music, Mahidol University. In 2023, she gave a lecture recital on “Alla Polacca – Polonaise, the national Polish dance. From Baroque to Chopin and thereafter.”. 

With her passion for Art Songs, she gave a lecture recital on “Characteristics, Similarities and Cultural Transfer in Eastern European Art Songs” in Hannover, 2025.

Joined with Maria Dłużewska, film director and Ireneusz Rolewski, painter who painted the copy of Jan Matejko’s masterpiece, “Bitwa pod Grundwaldem”. She performed in the movie “Bitwa” as a pianist.

She is interested in the connection between music and other art fields such as painting, poetry, literature, dance and frequently performs in creative projects. Apart from music, she is passionate about languages and working also as a trilingual (Thai, English and Polish) language teacher, translator, interpreter and MC.
