Here there is enough reduction to mask the nuances of the underlying fruit so I would suggest giving this some air first

Full-bodied and densely packed

Having tasted both the 95 and 96 offerings I was struck by the jump in quality in the 1996 Coteaux du Layon-Chaume Les Tetueres

2012 is not an opulent vintage for this wine

Weinbach, Pinot Gris Altenbourg SGN other_regions_australia Here there is enough reduction(for 375 ml.; 9. 9% alcohol, 161 g l r. s. and 10 grams of acidity) Deep yellow gold. Carnal, exotic aromas of orange blossom, game, smoke and earth. Superripe, thick and powerful, but given great penetration by almost painful acidity. Wonderfully dense and concentrated wine with a tactile, salty finish that refuses to let up. Like the '07 Riesling SGN, this is just hinting at the complexity to come. Stephen Tanzer
